Application Funding
Georgina Cares lends a helping hand to Georgina residents who are going through a temporary situation. For example, if a parent lost their job, Georgina Cares would step in to cover the cost of hockey for the year so the kids could continue to play and not feel the effects what the family was going through. It allows "kids to be kids" despite what is happening at home.
In order to be considered for our regular funding, an application must be filled out, either online or you may pick up readily available forms at many Town of Georgina buildings such as all library branches and arenas.
Compassion Fund
When a family in Georgina, especially one raising children, faces an unexpected crisis like a medical emergency, a tragic accident, or the loss of a loved one, the Georgina Cares Compassion Fund may be able to help.
This fund offers one-time financial assistance to families with children experiencing sudden, life-altering events. It’s not just about support it’s about compassion, connection, and showing families they’re not alone.

If you’re aware of a family going through a difficult time, we encourage you to share their story with us. Nominations are confidential and reviewed with care and sensitivity.

Please note: Submitting a nomination does not guarantee funding, but it ensures the family’s situation is considered with the compassion and attention it deserves.
Scholarship
The goal of our organization is to “help kids be kids”. We are not alone; there are hundreds of people in our community who commit their time to give back and make Georgina a better place to live. Many of them are students…ones who go above and beyond their “40 hours” to help others in our community.
To qualify, you must:
- be graduating high school in June 2026
- be a resident of the Town of Georgina
- have given back to the community by volunteering in some capacity.

To qualify, the applicant must:
- be 18 years old or under
- be nominated by an adult
- be a resident of the Town of Georgina
- Applications must deal with individual recipients only. No applications will be accepted where the recipient is an organization or group
