Application Funding
Georgina Cares lends a helping hand to Georgina residents who are going through a temporary situation. For example, if a parent lost their job, Georgina Cares would step in to cover the cost of hockey for the year so the kids could continue to play and not feel the effects what the family was going through. It allows "kids to be kids" despite what is happening at home.
In order to be considered for our regular funding, an application must be filled out, either online or you may pick up readily available forms at many Town of Georgina buildings such as all library branches and arenas.
Compassion Fund
Established in 2007, this is a one-time funding opportunity for families who are experiencing significant or catastrophic changes. If a family is going through a difficult time…medical, house fire, death, etc…funding may be available to help eliminate some of the financial stress during this time.
This request is generally made with a detailed letter outlining the family’s current situation and the basis of the request. Additional information is also submitted including event posters, media clippings, etc. You may submit an application online or contact us for more information.
Scholarship
The goal of our organization is to “help kids be kids”. We are not alone; there are hundreds of people in our community who commit their time to give back and make Georgina a better place to live. Many of them are students…ones who go above and beyond their “40 hours” to help others in our community.
To qualify, you must:
- be graduating high school in June 2024
- be a resident of the Town of Georgina
- have given back to the community by volunteering with children in some capacity.

To qualify, the applicant must:
- be 15 years old or under
- be nominated by an adult
- be a resident of the Town of Georgina
- Applications must deal with individual recipients only. No applications will be accepted where the recipient is an organization or group
