What is the Compassion Fund?
Our other source of funding is our Compassion Fund. Established in 2007, this is a one-time funding opportunity for families who are experiencing significant or catastrophic changes. If a family is going through a difficult time…medical, house fire, death…funding may be available to help eliminate some of the financial stress during this time.
What does it look like?
Help normally comes in the form of gift certificates. Gas cards for a family driving back and forth to a hospital, Grocery cards for a family in need.
Georgina Cares has also paid for the cost of a hall rental when family and friends have held a fundraiser.
How do I apply?
This request is generally made with a detailed letter, outlining the family’s current situation and the basis of the request.
Additional information is also submitted including event posters, media clippings, etc. where applicable.
