The Auction
The Live TV Auction, and our biggest fundraiser, takes place in November each year. This year it will take place on Sunday, November 26, 2023. Keep reading below for the details and auction items list!

The Kids Win and You Win!
While your donation of an item or service will benefit the kids of Georgina, the auction is also a great opportunity to get your name out in the community. Upon request, we will gladly supply a poster to hang in your place of business advertising the upcoming auction and that you have donated to the event. The week before the auction, your business name, donation description and its retail value will be listed in a one-page ad in the Georgina Advocate. Items will be listed by block and airing time. During your “10-minute block”, your item or service will be featured on television. Your business name and donation description will be mentioned several times. All-day items will be highlighted at the beginning of the auction and several times throughout the broadcast. The final 20-minutes of the auction is devoted to this popular block.
The auction is aired live throughout Georgina.
Here’s How The Auction Works in Four Easy Steps
Step One
Check out all the great items…bigger and better than ever before! Skim it briefly before the auction or study it and mark off all of the items you plan to bid on. Head over to Facebook for a sneak peek at items and auction updates.
Step Two
On Sunday, November 26th, find a comfortable couch to sit on. Look around and smile…there are no line-ups, no crowds, no tax…
If you don’t have Rogers tv, go online because the event will be live streamed on the Rogers tv website.
Step Three (the really fun part)
Tune into Rogers tv Georgina or the live stream option linked above at 11:30am.
Every 10 minutes, 9 new items are auctioned off in a block. During each block, the phone lines are open to take bids from the viewers at home, so CALL IN to 905-535-3310
The person with the highest bid at the end of the block will receive the item. Smile again…you just picked up a fabulous item for yourself or crossed another gift off your list AND you have helped underprivileged kids in your community.
Step Four
You will receive a call to say that you are the successful bidder…Congratulations and thank you! Stop by the Baileys Restaurant in the Ice Palace complex in Keswick between 6:30 and 8:00pm to pick up your items.

There are several fundraisers each year to raise money for our organization, but the biggest single event is our annual live television auction. With the gracious assistance of the Rogers TV, The Georgina Advocate, a group of dedicated volunteers and visionary sponsors like you, we are able to raise a substantial part of our grant budget every year during this event.

Donating To The Auction
There are several ways you can help to make our upcoming auctions a huge success.
BLOCK ITEMS
Your donation of a good or service would be a welcome addition to the auction. An item or certificate for a service you provide will be given exposure and promoted during the entire segment it is featured in.
BLOCK CHAMPIONS
You and your family can be a Block Champion in our Auction by donating a minimum $25 gift card. You may donate anything you want, from a local business that you want to support or any other store (we will tell you that we prefer a local business though). We will mention your name on the air during our live Auction and thank you for helping us.
CASH DONATIONS
Are gladly accepted prior to the auction and will be announced during the event.*
ALL-DAY ITEMS
A single product or service, valued at $600 or more, may be placed in our All-Day Block and given promotion throughout the entire day. These items are introduced at the beginning, mentioned numerous times throughout the day and bid on during the final 20 minutes of the auction.
BELL RINGERS
If our auction viewers bid an amount that exceeds the retail value of your donation, they will receive a “bell ringer” bonus. This is also a donated prize of $5-$10. Do you have any items or certificates that would fit this kind of donation?
